Messaging New Friends About Secret Codes

I spend most afternoons online these days. It’s like I’ve found a new way to hang out with friends without leaving my room. Today, I finally got around to messaging some of the newer ones about a game we all love.

It’s called “The Code Breaker,” and it’s this really neat puzzle game where you have to solve riddles and decode messages. The best part is that everyone in our group loves it too, so we can team up and work through challenges together.

I write my message carefully, making sure to keep the excitement just below the surface. I type:

“Hey guys! I’ve been playing this super fun game called ‘The Code Breaker,’ and there are some really cool secret codes you need to know about. Did anyone find them yet? I’ve got a few new ones that might help us progress faster.”

I hit send and wait for their replies. Usually, one of my friends responds almost instantly. They’re always eager to share tips or solve puzzles together.

A short while later, the message pings:

“Hey! Thanks for the heads up. We’re close to cracking this level but we couldn’t figure out what that last symbol means.”

I reply back:

“Oh yeah, I was stuck on it too. The key is to look at the pattern of letters and think about which ones are missing from common words. Got any other puzzles you’re struggling with?”

It’s nice when things like this happen online. It feels a bit like being in the same room, solving problems together even though we’re all typing away on different computers.

After chatting for a while, I realize it’s getting close to dinner time—probably around 6:30 PM. My mom usually starts making that yummy soup she always makes when I get home from school. But today, maybe I can ask her if I could make it myself just once?

I type my final message:

“Hey, do you think I could try cooking the soup tonight? I’ve watched a few videos online and I feel ready to give it a go.”

Looking at my phone, I see a notification from the game. A new update is available with more challenging puzzles. Maybe after dinner, we can all log back in and work on them together.

I’m excited for what’s next. Games, friends, and cooking—these are some of the things that make my life interesting these days.
