The red light on the new Game Boy flashes. I press the button hard. It should make a sound when it’s turned on, but instead, it just stays dark. I try again, harder this time. Still nothing. I wiggle the top and bottom of the Game Boy like maybe that will help. A small hole near the battery compartment catches my eye. Maybe if I pull out the battery… but no, that can’t be right. The Game Boy doesn’t work at all. I set it down on the table and look for something else to play with.
