The Game Boy beeps softly. The screen turns black with white lines as if the world is fading. I press buttons but nothing happens. I try to turn it on by shaking it gently, hoping the battery has just run low. A faint, persistent beep sounds—a sad song of failure. I plug in the charger, and the Game Boy hums like a sleepy frog waking up slowly. The screen lights back up, bright and happy again. I can’t believe my game is saved!
