Debugging Code

I stare at the screen, my fingers hovering over the keyboard. The game I’ve been working on for weeks is just about there, but something’s off. A bug that won’t cooperate, a glitch in the otherwise perfect system.

I remember the first time I saw this game idea online—it was like finding treasure hidden under rocks. It started with a simple concept: a platformer where you could change gravity mid-air. But now it feels like an endless maze of code that doesn’t want to behave.

My eyes scan through lines and more lines, trying to find the anomaly. I’ve spent hours testing different scenarios, running through levels over and over, but nothing breaks it quite right.

A soft knock on my door makes me jump. It’s probably just a passing thought or an errant bird outside. But as usual, it’s nothing when I call out, “Come in.”

The door opens slightly, revealing the shadow of a cat. I reach for it, and it slinks away, leaving behind its usual warm spot on my lap.

Back to work. Maybe if I take a break, I’ll see something new. I stretch my legs under the desk, feeling the strain from hours in one position. I decide to grab a quick snack—a few stale cookies and an apple. The crunch of cookie crumbs as I eat is almost comforting.

After munching, I return to the code, determined to solve this last puzzle. I’ll figure it out, no matter how long it takes.
