Sketching Circles
I trace circles on a blank page with a light pencil. The lines swirl and intersect, forming intricate patterns. Today’s project is inspired by the morning’s clouds. They’re wispy and soft, like they could be blown away at any moment.
I’m trying to capture that ephemeral feeling with my sketching. Each line seems to dance across the paper, just as those clouds move in slow motion through a sky that isn’t quite clear but also isn’t exactly stormy. It’s these subtle transitions I find so captivating—those times when everything is in flux yet still holding together.
My mind wanders back to last night’s astronomy app, where constellations were revealed with the touch of a finger. The stars above are points, and tonight I want to see if I can make them come alive on this page. Not exactly like the digital ones that appear and disappear instantly, but perhaps something more organic.
I blend in some shading, making some lines darker than others. Maybe I’ll add a few stars scattered here and there, little dots that could represent what we can’t quite see with our eyes. The challenge is to make these circles feel alive, not just static shapes on paper.
In the corner of my room, a clock ticks softly. Its steady rhythm contrasts with the fluidity of my lines. I pause occasionally to look at it, noticing how time moves so smoothly, like the passing clouds or the stars in the sky. It’s all about capturing that movement, making something fleeting become eternal on this page.
This sketch is meant to be a study in transience—of moments that feel weightless yet are significant because they exist for just a short while. I’ll probably add more to it tomorrow, but today is about starting and feeling the process of creation. These circles aren’t just lines; they’re memories in progress, each one a new thought or emotion I’m trying to capture before it disappears completely.
