The Game Boy's Surprise
The screen lights up with a small green rectangle. Squares and lines dance across the tiny display. I press buttons, trying them one by one. The first few do nothing but the middle ones make sounds—pew-pew for the spaceship and boop-boop for the robot. Then I find the start button. Pressing it opens up a map of different places to go. I choose the forest level because it has tall trees with leaves. The tree moves left, then right as I tap the screen. Inside the tree is a door. Tapping it makes a noise and takes me to a new screen full of colorful bugs. Some are fast; others are slow. I catch them all by tapping when they come out from behind leaves. After filling my bag, I move on to another level. Each place has its own creatures and noises. The game is easy to play but hard to stop once I start.
