The sun shines bright through the window. I hold my Game Boy tightly, pressing buttons on the screen blankly. No Luigi or Mario appears. I shake the little machine, hoping to bring them back to life. The screen just stays dark, as if refusing to show anything more today. A small battery symbol flickers on, then goes out like a candle blown by a breeze. With a sigh, I put the Game Boy aside and reach for a book instead.
