I try to dodge but it hits the side of my kart anyway. The kart skids sideways then starts spinning out. I hit the brakes hard but the shell keeps pushing me further off course. My kart careens towards a wall. I barely manage to swerve just in time, scraping the edge and losing speed. Now the track is ahead, curving sharply. I know it’s coming. I try to predict where it might hit next, but all my planning goes out the window as another red shell zips past. This one hits right behind me, causing both karts to spin around in a chaotic blur. It’s like trying to outrun a swarm of angry beetles.
