Coding Club's New Project
I sit at my desk, fingers typing away on the keyboard. The monitor lights up with a new window labeled “Space Station Asteroid Mission.” Today’s task is to code a module that tracks resources for astronauts. Each line of code seems more complex than before, but I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
The last time we worked on something like this was during the coding club meeting yesterday. Everyone pitched in ideas, and our teacher showed us some basic functions we could use. Today’s challenge is to implement those ideas into a functional program. I’ve been thinking about the asteroid mining part; there’s an equation from class that might work well for calculating resource extraction rates.
I glance at my notes from today’s geometry class—those triangles really come in handy when figuring out angles and distances, which will be crucial for setting up the asteroid map on screen. The teacher suggested we could add a feature where the station can send drones to collect samples. I start typing, trying to visualize the process.
Suddenly, there’s an email notification. It’s from my friend, who just joined coding club last week. She mentions she’s having trouble with the same part of the project and asks if I can help out. I reply, explaining what I did step by step, hoping it helps her understand better. Coding has become not just a class but a way to connect with others.
As I continue working, my mind wanders back to last night’s movie marathon. We watched “Interstellar” and spent hours discussing the physics behind black holes. Now, coding a simulation feels like bringing those concepts to life, even if it’s just in a simple program.
It’s getting late; soon, the lights will dim as it gets dark outside. But there’s still so much to do before I can call this module complete. I push my chair back and stretch, feeling accomplished yet aware that there’s more work ahead. This project is challenging but rewarding, especially when I see how my efforts contribute to something bigger than just code on a screen.
As the night draws in, I save my work and log off, ready for bed with the satisfaction of having made progress today.
