The New Pokémon Snap on Switch
The camera shakes as I press the A button quickly. The lens zooms in on a group of Porygon standing side by side. Each one has a slightly different pose—two are casually chatting while one seems to be studying the others intently, its arms crossed. I adjust my grip on the Joy-Con, tilting it just so to get the perfect angle for the shot. The screen blinks once and then settles with a satisfying sound of confirmation.
I move the camera to the right to include more of the colorful environment around them: a vibrant forest with tall trees that rustle in the background wind. A few Porygon continue their own business, some jumping or dancing while others remain still, as if observing the world through their digital eyes. I click another picture and then step back to review my last two shots on the LCD screen. They’re sharp and clear, capturing the energy of the scene perfectly.
The sun casts golden light through the trees, making everything look magical in a way that only happens when you’re looking at it through the lens. I know Professor Elms will be thrilled with these photos. Maybe he’ll even say they’re good enough for the latest issue of Pokédex Snap!
