A big noise booms in the sky. I look up from playing with my toy cars and see a bright light rising high into the air. It’s so tall it looks like it could touch the clouds. The metal is shiny and white, moving slowly but steadily. People are clapping and cheering below, their voices loud and clear. Smoke trails behind, making shapes in the sky. I can’t stop watching until the shuttle disappears up there, still leaving marks of its journey.
