Today feels like any other day, but it’s special because something new is happening. I’m in my room, surrounded by game manuals and posters of my favorite characters. The door creaks as I open the box for the newest Sonic game. It’s all shiny and new, with bright blue boxes and green hills.

I start setting up everything—putting out snacks, checking if the controller works. There’s a loud whirring sound as I turn on the computer. The screen lights up, showing me a familiar purple hedgehog but this time he has some cool new moves. He can spin even faster now! And there are these tricky rings floating around that I have to pick up really quickly.

I’ve been practicing all week. First, I tried the simple levels. Then I moved on to the harder ones. Now, it’s like I’m running and spinning through my own dreams. I want to get really good at this game before showing everyone tomorrow in school.

There’s a clock ticking down in the corner of my screen. The launch is starting soon. I take a deep breath, ready to start the adventure again.
