The button clicks softly on the controller. I press it over and over again, watching the screen closely. A small character moves slowly across the green background. He jumps into a hole that appears magically. There’s a tiny thud when he lands, but not too loud. I keep pressing, hoping he finds his way out. The hole disappears just as he reaches for it. I frown slightly and try again, this time waiting longer before the button. It works! He jumps right in and bounces back up to safety. A smile appears on my face. Pressing buttons makes things happen in the game.
