The New Super Mario Bros. U

The screen lights up with vibrant green grass and blue skies as the game starts. Mario steps into the level, his face a simple black-and-white outline, yet still recognizable. He jumps high, and I watch in awe as he soars past clouds. The controls are smooth; pressing right or left makes him walk, and tapping A makes him jump. It’s like a dance, each motion precise and satisfying.

In one corner, the screen displays the time: 12:30 PM. In the background, I can hear the hum of the TV set, but it doesn’t distract from the game. The level transitions to an underground area where pipes lead Mario into different chambers. Each one is a challenge, with coins scattered around and enemies like Koopa Troopas that need to be jumped over or avoided.

I spend hours playing, trying different strategies to navigate through the levels quickly. I find hidden exits and secret areas, earning stars along the way. The game’s music plays softly in my ears, upbeat and catchy— it matches the excitement of each level perfectly.

The screen flickers as I save my progress. I’ve been playing for so long that my fingers are starting to ache from pressing the buttons. But there’s no stopping now; I want to see how much further I can go before taking a break.
