Drawing the Future

The computer screen flickers under my fingertips as I navigate through the layers in Photoshop. The air is cool from the open window, carrying with it the scent of rain that started last night and still lingers. My fingers dance over the keyboard, moving pixels around until they align just right. It’s been a long week at school—math quizzes, science projects, and endless essays—but here, in front of the screen, I’m free to explore.

I’ve been working on this design for hours now. The concept started as a simple idea—a cityscape with towering skyscrapers made entirely out of spinning rings. Each building is composed of interlocking loops, spiraling upwards like vines twisting around a trellis. It’s both futuristic and organic at the same time.

I’m drawn to the complexity; each ring needs to fit perfectly, with no gaps or overlaps. The challenge lies in making sure the whole structure looks seamless from any angle. I’ve spent hours adjusting colors and gradients until they blend seamlessly into the background. The rings themselves are metallic silver, casting shadows that add depth and dimension.

The inspiration came from an old anime series I used to watch—Spiral Rings—and how its intricate designs always left me in awe. Now, those intricate patterns have become a part of something I’m creating. Maybe one day, someone will find my design as fascinating as the ones in that show.

As I work, the sound of rain outside provides a soothing background hum. It’s almost like the city is breathing, each drop resonating with the life within it. The screen lights up now and then as I save progress, feeling proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. There are still many tweaks to make, but for now, I’m content with how it looks.

In the corner of my eye, a flash of light catches my attention—a reflection from the monitor. It’s the small globe I keep on my desk, lit up by the screen. It spins slowly in its holder, a constant reminder that while I may create these worlds here, they’re still just digital constructs. But for now, they feel real.

As the rain continues to fall outside, my fingers continue their dance, bringing this cityscape to life one ring at a time.
