The hat from the red shirt jumps up and down on its little platform. It bounces twice before staying still. I press the button again. Still nothing happens. The hat just sits there, not jumping like it usually does. I try pressing harder, but it’s no use—nothing. I push the button one more time, hoping it will start working again. It doesn’t move at all this time. Maybe I should reset it by unplugging and plugging back in the cable from the television. I grab a chair and stand on it to reach the back of the TV. The cable is loose and I tug it gently—still no luck. I plug it back in tight, but when I go back to pressing the button, nothing happens again. The hat just stands there with its little arms outstretched as if waiting for something to happen.
