Afternoon Coding Session
Today’s work is all about the spinning rings. I’ve been tweaking the code for hours, trying to get that last bug out of it. The screen displays the rings in endless loops, swirling and flying across the virtual sky. Each ring should spin smoothly, but something’s off; they glitch just a bit too much.
The rules are simple: collect as many rings as you can without touching them all at once. I’ve been experimenting with different speed settings to make it more challenging or easier depending on how the players feel today. But balancing that is no easy task. Too fast, and it’s frustrating; too slow, and it’s boring.
The rings themselves are a mix of colors—red, blue, green, yellow—that pop against the black background. They’re supposed to make your eyes do a little dance just like when you stare at them for too long in real life. The coding is complex enough to keep me engrossed, but not so much that I lose track of what’s important.
I’ve got this one function down now that’s making the rings slightly wobble as they spin, creating a more dynamic feel. But every time I add a new feature or tweak an existing one, something else breaks somewhere else. Debugging is like playing a game within a game—figuring out where the bug lies and then fixing it without disrupting everything.
I’ve been coding for almost three hours now, with only a brief break to grab some tea from the vending machine down the hall. The afternoon sun filters through the window in patches of light and shadow, casting patterns on my desk. A faint hum of machines in the background keeps me company; it’s the familiar rhythm of an office building buzzing away.
As I run another test, the rings start to behave a little more smoothly. There’s still that glitchy moment where they all move too fast together, but maybe tweaking the timing will fix that. The satisfaction of seeing something work as intended is incredibly rewarding after hours of frustration and minor victories.
Tonight, there might be time for a small group chat with friends about these changes or even share it on social media if it’s good enough. For now though, I’m just focusing on making this perfect. It’s not an easy task, but the thrill of finally getting it right is worth every moment spent here in front of the screen.
