The game console whines loudly as I plug in the controller. The screen flickers for a moment before settling on the startup logo. I press Start to begin the loading sequence. The console seems slow today, taking longer than usual to get ready. I wiggle the controller, hoping to start the game faster, but it doesn’t help much. The whining noise is annoying and makes me wish it would just load already. Finally, after a few more minutes, the game starts up.
