The New Game Launch
The screen flickers on with a bright blue logo. It’s the newest game from the big company everyone’s been talking about. I sit down in front of the TV, my eyes glued to the screen as it starts up. The graphics are amazing—shiny, colorful, and detailed like never before. I hear the sound effects pop out: whooshes, thuds, and zaps that make me jump a little.
The tutorial level is easy but fun. I control the character moving across platforms, dodging falling blocks and picking up coins. The music plays softly in the background, catchy and upbeat. It’s just like when I played those old games, but way better.
Suddenly, a new level starts with a boss fight. A giant robot appears on screen. It moves slowly at first, then picks up speed. I press buttons quickly—up, down, right, left, jump, punch. The character in the game does the same and I get excited as it takes out part of the robot’s arm. I keep trying to hit just the right spots until finally, the robot blows up into tiny pieces.
After beating the boss, a message pops up: “Congratulations! You’ve completed Chapter 1!” My fingers dance over the buttons again for more levels and challenges. This game is going to be a while.
