I pick up the small gray box. It’s heavier than I expected. When I turn it on, a little green man appears on the screen. He moves and jumps around like he’s dancing. A tiny beeping sound comes from the game. It sounds like a bird chirping. I press the buttons to make the character go right or left. Each time I touch one, the bird noise changes. Sometimes it makes a blooping sound when the character hits something. The little man stops moving and I try again, pressing different buttons. I can hear his steps on a soft pad inside the game that seems to be making all the noises. It’s funny how a machine can make so many sounds just by pressing tiny squares.
