Encrypting Secrets with Code
Today, I learned about secret messages using codes! It’s like turning regular words into something only you can understand. My friend showed me how to use substitution ciphers where each letter gets replaced by another one further down the alphabet. For example, A becomes D, B becomes E, and so on. It’s super fun because it feels like a puzzle to figure out!
I tried coding my name: SAM would become WVD. I wrote a little story about finding buried treasure with my code name—XQV—and it felt pretty sneaky. Then we swapped notes, trying to decode each other’s messages without anyone else seeing them. It’s just like when you whisper secrets during break!
I’m gonna keep practicing because I want to be really good at it. Maybe next time, I can make an even more complicated code for my secret diary!
