New Coding Challenge Unveiled

Today’s coding class is different. Miss Lee announces we’re starting a new project—building a game with Scratch! It sounds like fun, but I’m worried because the last time was tricky. She shows us some examples where characters move and bounce around, collecting objects. One of them has a character spinning in circles and picking up coins. That’s my favorite part!

Miss Lee says we’ll use blocks to create our own game. She explains that loops are like instructions that repeat until something happens. I’m excited to try making the character spin using the “repeat” block. It feels good to know there’s a way to make things move in circles just by typing commands.

I spend some time playing with the coding blocks, trying to get my character to do simple moves. The screen lights up as the character jumps and spins around the stage. I’m still figuring out how to make it collect items, but that will be for tomorrow’s class. For now, I’m happy just making my character move in circles over and over. It feels like progress!
