The New Sonic Game Launch
The screen flickers and pops as the game boots up. The title “Sonic Heroes” flashes brightly before sliding into the main menu. I choose “Starting Point” and am greeted with a vibrant island scene. A blue hedgehog named Sonic stands in the foreground, surrounded by colorful panels that shift and change. He glances left then right, his eyes narrowing as if looking for trouble.
I press start and Sonic begins running across the screen at breakneck speed. He leaps over obstacles and dodges enemies with ease. I mimic his movements on the controller, pressing buttons to jump and dash. The game hums along, responsive and smooth.
Suddenly, a red zone appears ahead. A rival hedgehog named Shadow stands there, eyes glowing menacingly. Sonic stops mid-run, turning to face him. He raises an arm, ready for battle. I tense up, waiting for the fight sequence to begin. The screen blurs as the two hedgehogs clash, their movements so fast they’re almost indistinguishable.
The game’s sound effects are loud and clear—Sonic’s footsteps thumping heavily, Shadow’s growls low in his throat. When a ring spins around Sonic, I cheer inwardly. He’s winning! But then, Shadow gets lucky—a quick dash past Sonic, leaving him behind.
The screen fades to black as the level ends. I sigh, shifting on my seat. The game offers four more zones before restarting this one. I decide to replay it again, hoping for a better outcome.
