I press up and down, trying to pick a stage. The beeps change with each choice, quick and sharp. I want to reach that final boss, but first I must find the right sequence of stages. Each select gives me a new tune—sometimes fast, sometimes slow. The sound is like a puzzle, and I’m trying to solve it.
