Space Station's New Asteroid Mission

Today, the space station got a new asteroid mission! The screen is full of shiny rocks zipping past. I’ve been practicing flying the ship in the simulator for hours. Every asteroid looks like it could be packed with treasure. Some are big and slow-moving, perfect for mining. Others dart around too fast to catch.

I keep my eyes peeled for blue asteroids - those are said to contain special minerals. But mostly, they just look cool hurtling past. I can’t wait to finally pilot the real ship out there. Maybe I’ll find a rare green asteroid with an alien message hidden inside! The thought makes me feel like I’m part of something big and exciting.

The station buzzes with chatter about the mission plans. Everyone seems excited, even the grumpy engineers. I overhear them talking about how they’re tweaking the ship’s engines for extra speed. One tech mentions she’s making a special shield to protect against asteroid impacts. It sounds like it’ll be quite a ride when we finally launch.

I can’t help but feel nervous yet thrilled all at once. Flying through space, dodging asteroids… it feels like playing the most fun video game ever, except I get to do it for real!
