The Legend of Zelda Game Launch
The screen hums and dances with blue light as I sit in front of the TV. The title appears—The Legend of Zelda. A young Link stands with his bow drawn, ready for battle. The music swells into something epic, strings plucking together to create a grand tune. My fingers press down on buttons—A for action, B for items. Link walks through a forest, picking berries and dodging animals. His steps are smooth, each pixel move calculated just right.
The screen flickers with the loading of Hyrule Castle Town. The stones are sharp and detailed, every nook and cranny distinct. I watch as Link meets his horse Epona for the first time. Her hooves stomp softly on the ground, and she neighs loudly. I press R to control her, and she gallops gracefully through the town.
A gust of wind ruffles my shirt—this seems like a warm day even though we’re in the middle of winter. Outside, the TV makes no sound but I can hear the laughter of others playing it in the next room over. My friends call out to me, “Link, come play!” but I stay focused on the game.
The sun sets slowly through the window behind the TV, casting a warm glow that seems out of place with the coolness outside. A blue orb appears—Deku Seed—and I plant it in the ground to grow a Deku Tree. Its leaves ripple and twist, making a small breeze.
Finally, I press Start to save my progress. The screen blinks off, leaving me satisfied and ready for bed. This game is going to be amazing.
