Scratch Coding Adventure
Today feels like a big day for coding! I spent the whole morning trying out Scratch, a fun online program where you can make your own games by dragging blocks. First, I made a simple cat character that moves when I click on the stage. Then I added some sounds—cats meowing and purring. It’s so much fun seeing my creations come to life!
I tried making the cat jump over obstacles, but it didn’t work at first. Frustrated for a moment, I took a break to watch a cartoon about coding that my teacher showed us last week. The cartoon explained how important loops and variables are in coding.
Back to work, I realized I needed to use blocks correctly. After fixing the code, the cat jumps perfectly! Next, I added some coins for points. Collecting five coins wins you the game. Coding is like a puzzle; you just need to figure out where each piece goes.
Now, my next challenge is to add enemies that can be avoided or defeated. Can’t wait to see what else Scratch has in store today!
