The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Level Select
The screen’s cold glow bathes the room in blue and purple. A triangle button flickers under my finger as I navigate to the level select menu. Four options appear: Forest Temple, Palace of Darkness, Desert Palace, and Ganon’s Castle. Each holds a different challenge and a story fragment. My thumb dances over the buttons, stopping on the first option—Forest Temple. The screen quiets momentarily before the game hums back to life.
A green-tinged forest unfurls before me, filled with trees that sway in an unseen breeze. Triforce fragments float among the branches, calling out to be collected. I slide my finger left and right over the map, charting a path through the dense canopy. A small fox, the Deku Scrub, watches from a hollow log as I move from screen to screen.
The first level is a puzzle-filled labyrinth with hidden paths and traps. I walk slowly, taking in every detail. A cracked bridge leads down to water that shimmers like glass. Another section reveals an ancient stone pedestal, pulsing with blue light. Each challenge requires careful thought—finding the correct melody from my ocarina to unlock doors or move obstacles.
After completing the level, the screen flashes and a new fragment of the Triforce appears on the map. I press Start, pausing for just a second before choosing another adventure.
